Monday update~~

I know I haven't posted much lately, but I've just been busy. Nothing wrong. :-) This weekend was very busy and I helped host a wedding shower which was just about the most fun I've had in a while. I really enjoyed it. This week the plan is to shuffle furniture here and there because we have now lived here long enough for me to see that I don't like where things were originally put. It's going to be quite a job, but one that I must get done before the cold weather sets in so I've just got to dig in and get it done. My husband's job is still going well. We are just trying to adjust to what will be our new budget. And we're not quite there yet. It will probably take us another month or so before we are able to fall into a good rhythem with it.

Well, I hope everyone has good productive week that they enjoy ~ I know that's my plan! Hugs~~

Question

Just wanted to ask if anyone knows if Stephanie from Musings of a Mountain Momma and/or Sojourner in a Strange Land is blogging anywhere now? If you know of her blog, I'd love it if you would share the link with me.

Thanks!

A funny

My husband works with a guy that is a bit...odd. He has this way thinking that the most mudane things are completely new concepts to most people. Like...one day he was asking if hubby and the others at work had "heard of the game where you have a big heavy ball and you roll it at the little sticks?" Bowling. He was talking about bowling. So...yeah.

Well, you would just have to know my husband to know exactly where these types of conversations will lead. My husband is a really funny guy but has an extremely dry sense of humor. People that don't know him might not even realize what he said until 15 minutes later and then they'll laugh.

So today this co-worker comes up and asks hubby if he is a crunchy or creamy type of person. Oh my. Peanut butter. He was talking about peanut butter. So then he asks hubby if he knew that one could actually make a sandwich out of this stuff. Well, my hubby being my hubby and all, looks at the guy with a straight face and says that no, he had never heard of that. Then the man starts this long drawn out explanation about grape jelly and bread and...oh....my goodness. At some point my husband couldn't hold it in anymore and busted out laughing.

The man looks at him and says, "Oh..you're doing it again aren't you?" So you can see this has happened before.

It would be fun to be a fly on the wall at that place...

Howdy!

I just wanted to pop on here real quick and give a little update. I've just been busy! I do have a couple posts I want to make and will be hopefully cranking those out over the next couple of days. Let's see...there's going to be a chocolate cobbler involved for my cooking blog (yum), I'd like to do a post to show a few of my Fall decorations (I don't think I've even shared one picture since we moved into our little house), and I've got some truly (I think) awesome curriculum picked out for this year.

So just stay tuned, I'm still around! Hugs~~~~~~~

Pay no attention to this rant...

There is a person at one of the many internet venues I frequent that is driving me just a little nuts. And since hubby is probably getting tired of me fussing to him about this person, it's your turn internet.

If I could, I would so like to sit said dear on down and share a few things with them.

1. Yes, life is hard. Very hard. Harder than you know. And being a Christian does not exempt you from this. It's not a free-get-out-of-hard-times card. If anything, it makes life harder because Satan will try his best to get you to sell out.

2. God is not obliged to swoop down and sweep away all your troubles just because you don't want to go through them. Refer back to #1.

3. We ***ALL*** go through very hard, even nighmarish times in this life! Yes, every single one of us! Do not lose your perspective (or maybe just get some to begin with) because you are troubled. LIFE COULD BE SOOOO MUCH WORSE!!!! Your child could have cancer or your marriage could be falling apart. Perspective. It's a good thing.

4. Sometimes you've just got to slap a smile on your face, pull up your big girl panties and live your day whether you feel like it or not. Your life might be throwing curve balls at you left and right but there is still laundry to do, dinner to fix, and people to care for. No matter your troubles, live your day.

5. Joy is not in material possessions. It's in the people whose hearts you possess.
